Inspiration: Back in the day, before the Internet, our stories and wisdom of generations passed on via vaars and sakhis (traditional ballads). People did not have media and ideas traveled slowly.
Now that we are connected, I believe it is the responsibility of every Punjabi who can read this to connect with his/her community, village, town and tell a story about its vibrant social/religious culture of his/her neighborhood. Why Punjabi Radio USA: As a kaum we are facing a sad reality: Punjab is in trouble and at this rate Sikhi may potentially turn into a religion of the past. Farmers in Punjab are committing suicide because of loans with horrifically high interest rates. Drugs are ruining our generation. Girls are being aborted in alleyways. Oh, and don’t forget about all the political corruption. We need to fight back, fix our present state, and preserve our roots. The best way to do all this is through preserving the backbone of any culture -- language. Punjabi Radio effectively accomplishes this.

Inspiration: I derive my inspiration from many individuals -- peers, elders, celebrities, historic figures, etc. The thing they all have in common is that they are big thinkers. I feel no challenge is too large to take on, it just takes dedication and self-confidence. At the end of the day, my Mom (Dr. Kiranpreet Kalra) and Dad (Gurmeet Kalra) provide me with endless inspiration and support -- they have taught me to never give up and make sure I don't even when I am at the verge of it!
